Description

Final Story: Planning Document Instructions: Your final story project will require you to present where you will be five to ten

years from now. The presentation needs to be between five to ten minutes in length with an emphasis on the impact of what you have learned in this course and how it has affected the “future you”. In the spaces below, provide detailed information on how you plan to construct your final story project. 1. What is the title of your story? (Be creative). Project: 2024(AD) At Disney and Universal, whenever we have a new attraction/venue/location to keep from people finding out what it is and spoiling the secret, we give everything project numbers and code words. Usually terms that have some sort of relevance to the theme. Like for instance, when Universal started to build ”Diagon Alley” for Harry Potter. We gave it a project name relevant to the page that J.K. Rowling had described Diagon Alley in full detail. Project: (simply explaining it’s a project), 2024: (the year perhaps), D: Design, A: Architecture 2. Who is your audience? (The Final Story Project Introduction in the “Reference Materials” provides some examples of potential audiences). My audience will be a classroom full of aspiring students and colleagues who have come to a mini-seminar The mini-seminar will feature breif look at the career and educational path a certain architects. The presentation will also include several of the architect’s original concept drawings for various structures. With a small, limited Q&A after the presentation. 3. Since points will be determined in accordance to your verbal delivery of the information (eye contact, posture, gestures, etc.) you must be speaking live. You are required, however, to include digital media within your presentation. If it is a video or sound clip, it should not be more than two minutes in length and the time needed to watch or listen will not be considered as part of the minimum five minutes of speaking required. What type of media will you use in your presentation? Select all that apply. ☐ PowerPoint Presentation

☒ Prezi ☒ Video ☒ Other (if selected, please list what will be used): Music 4. In the space below, explain the setting and background for your story. The setting will be a classroom set within an architecture convention. Clients, students and colleagues have come to hear a mini-seminar on architecture. Conveniently located in our classroom. 5. What is your purpose? Explain the major you selected and the financial steps you plan to take to ensure successful completion and action plan to pay off any debt. My purpose is to support my family as well as to create and influence the future of architectural design. The major I have selected is Architecture and the financial steps I plan to take to ensure my successful completion and action plan to pay off my debt is to continue to save money as I am now. I put $20 into savings every day that I work and I save $20 more with each paycheck. I save all of my secondary income and only use it as an emergency. My work will continuously change and evolve putting my in higher positions and raising wages therefor allowing me to save more. 6. Explain how your purpose is related to your career goals. Who did you select to conduct your career interviews? Provide their name and title and explain why you selected them. From the interview, is there a quote, comment or interview answer that you plan to share in your presentation? My purpose is related to my career goals by me wanting to and planning on creating the future of architecture. I will create new and state of the art buildings that utilize renewable resources that a captured in strategic positions in the buildings and structures I create. I selected Alan Haughey, Vice-President/CEO of ConTech Construction LLC. I selected them because the building that they are located in is beautiful, they have a very impressive work resume and they are conveniently located just 3 min down the street from me. I will be using a quote from Mr. Haughey; “Construction is done right in a collaboration of different skills working well together.” 7. What is your career pathway? Provide a detailed explanation (include: your major, metamajor, explanation of your career, your career plan and details from your career assessments). My major is Articulated Architecture and my meta-major is Industry/Manufacturing and Construction. Architecture is the art of designing a building or structure for all purposes.

Architecture includes everything from planning, designing, material decisions and project oversight. In my career assessments I am an INTP. My primary interests are being artistic and enterprising. I matched 72% with engineering and architecture in the skills assessment. I value my independence, achievements, working conditions, recognition and support. Outside of my academic studies I continue to draw original concept art for potential structures that may become actual buildings or just used as inspiration. I research various architecture styles specific to different cultures, time periods and regions around the world. I enjoy going to various conventions around the city and build relationships with potential clients and colleagues. 8. What type of supporting material will you include in your presentation? (Examples are: charts, tables, interview videos). I will be using a I chart outlining the design process that architects do every project. I will also be using a 2:47 music video projecting a humorous insight on architecture. The presentation will also include several well placed handmade drawings of mine and a song in the background. “EPCOT Test Track 2.0 Official Music” it is an upbeat and energetic song that inspires creativity and passion in embracing the future. It is also the theme song for Test Track in EPCOT at Disney. The song should go very well in sequence and will act as a mini subliminal timer for the presentation. The song is 5:10 and the video is 2:47. In total the presentation will take around 8 min not including the brief Q&A. 9. In the space below, provide a detailed outline of how you plan to organize the information in your presentation. The outline should include blocks of time and provide supporting details as to why and how information will be included in your presentation. (For example, your outline may include something like “Just after the first minute, I will be showing a video from my career interview. The video is a minute and thirty seconds in length. At the two minute 30 second mark, I will begin discussing…”). Be extremely thorough in your outline. Remember, your final presentation will be approximately five to ten minutes in length.
