Muhammad Zawawi Bin Muhammad Ali @ Yusof Dr. Nor Hafizi Bin Yusof Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin Kuala Terengganu [email protected] [email protected] Abstract The implementation of an integrated curriculum in the school system for the integration of religion or of religious curriculum and academics have started to gain ground among parents in Malaysia. But sometimes it is a cause of concern for parents, especially when learning centers that offer dual curricula system does not plan to review the curriculum offered and failed to organize activities that help students excel in the academic curriculum and tahfiz. The question that always lingers in the minds of parents is whether the students attending the schools of this curriculum can master two fields at once or will there be a dropout in one of the areas studied. To find the answer to this question, the research has been carried out by researchers in Malaysia, in four Imtiaz schools in Terengganu, namely Imtiaz Besut, Dungun, Kuala Terengganu and Kuala Berang. Using the methods of literature review and analysis of documents to assess and analyze the discussion in the text and translated in the form of narrative approach, it is found out the students in the four Imtiaz schools can not only compete equally in academic but sometimes surpass those in 'premier schools ' such as Sekolah Menengah Sains (SBP), Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM) and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama (SMKA). Analysis of the test results and the achievement in hafazan test of the SPM students based on the Ulul al-Bab model shows that the implementation of the integrated curriculum is not an obstacle, and the fact that they are ranked among the 20 top schools since 2007 from 143 schools, state-level awards from 2008 to 2015 with a mean of < 2.8. is an achievement to be proud of. What is most encouraging is that they are always ahead in the mastery of memorizing the Koran have successfully produced the total of 788 hafiz and hafizah from 1317 students in 2012 to 2015, representing 59.83% of students who are at the age of 17 years or at the SPM level. In the extra-curricular achievements they have achieved successes internationally by grabbing the Gold, Silver and Special Award at the Seoul International Young Invention Contest (IYIC) Korea 2014, Champion in the World Invention Intellectual Property Association of Macau 2014, Gold Medal & Special Awards in Kaohsiung International Invention and Design Expo (IDE) Taiwan 2015, Gold Medal & Special Awards in Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition (IPITEX 2016) and Gold, Silver Medal & Special Award at the European Exhibition of Creativity and Innovation Romania in 2016. Abstrak Pelaksanaan kurikulum bersepadu dalam sistem persekolahan secara integrasi antara kurikulum agama atau tahfiz dan akademik telah mula mendapat tempat dalam kalangan ibu bapa di Malaysia. Namun adakalanya ia mendatangkan kebimbangan kepada ibu bapa terutamanya apabila pusat-pusat pengajian yang menawarkan kurikulum dwi-sistem tersebut tidak merancang dengan baik kurikulum yang ditawarkan dan gagal menyusun aktiviti yang boleh membantu kecemerlangan pelajar dalam kurikulum akademik dan tahfiz. Persoalan yang sering bermain dalam fikiran ibu bapa ialah 'apakah pelajar-pelajar yang mengikuti dua aliran kurikulum ini dapat menguasai dua bidang sekaligus atau akan berlaku keciciran salah satu bidang yang dipelajari'. Untuk mencari jawapan kepada persoalan ini, penyelidikan telah dibuat oleh pengkaji di Malaysia iaitu di empat buah sekolah Imtiaz negeri Terengganu iaitu di daerah Besut, Dungun, Kuala Terengganu dan Kuala Berang. Menggunakan kaedah kajian perpustakaan dan analisis dokumen dengan menilai dan menganalisis perbincangan di dalam kandungan teks dan diterjemahkan dalam bentuk pendekatan naratif mendapati pelajar-pelajar di empat buah sekolah menengah Imtiaz negeri Terengganu dapat bersaing seiring dalam bidang akademik malah adakalanya 1...
