Challenges for Teachers One of the biggest challenges for teachers is recognizing when students are gifted but have a learning disability. Another challenge for teachers is having to differentiating their lesson plans for each individual student.

One Great Teaching Idea or Strategy

This article talks about the students who are considered gifted but also have learning disabilities. The article defines these students as those who have the ability for academic success but deal with a learning disability. It also talks about how there is a stereotype revolving around both the gifted students and the ones with learning disabilities. This stereotype has cause a lot of these students to not receive the help and accommodations they need. It goes on to talk about all the different issues that are revolved around these students, and how they can be overcome.

One strategy is that the teacher can use technology to allow the gifted students to work on the things that they are good at, at higher levels, and work on the things that they are struggling with, at lower levels. This allows the students to be able to excel in the areas that they are good at and helps them master the ones they are struggling with.
