Firstly what is consciousness and intelligence??Consciousness means a state of being aware and reacts to something happening around. Intelligence means applying rules or knowledge to something to exist. Intelligence can exist without consciousness. Does AI have a mind? Does it have self consciousness?? Nowadays, these questions turned into another two concepts strong AI and weak AI which are introduced by Searle. According to Strong AI Machines can have a mind, self-consciousness. Machines can understand its own actions. It has equivalent ability to human minds. On the other hand weak AI means it just seems like it has consciousness. They just replicate mental abilities and useful in grasp the human minds. Why machines don’t have consciousness??According to Searle it doesn’t have intentionality. What is intentionality??It means fact of being purposive. Consciousness is intentionality or aboutness.All actions done by human are intentionally. its towards something. Humans always have consciousness when they see something; taste food or think about anything.Conciousness can’t exist without intentionality. For example, let’s create two rooms. In one room there is machine and another one with human. Basically machines works on programs. Program is a sequence of process for machines. The program could be given any input to solve and the machine would follow the sequence not because it “understands” any worldly imputation of either the input or the output but simply because it’s following the commands of its programming. Let’s take one example, we provide one equation which is “a=b”. Now I consider ‘a’ as apple and ‘b’ as a banana. Now input will be apple=banana. What machine will do it just follow instructions and give output apple=banana. On the other hand human mind will think and understand that they both can’t be same. Consciousness is about something that understand. Human minds have intentionality. They did actions with intentionality with their experience. The machine doesn’t make sense of concepts such as “variables”, “placeholders”, “items”, “sequences”, “execution”, etc. It just doesn’t grasp, period. Thus, a machine never truly “knows” what it’s doing and can only take on the operational appearance of comprehension. So, AI doesn’t have selfconsciousness. In objections to it if we put machines in robot they can understand actions just like human minds. As we talk above humans can detect objects using their experience. Robots can also experience real world objects using sensors. It can sense the objects. It can move around and by

seeing it can learn about objects just like infant babies. In that way machines can have understanding and intentionality similar to humans. In summary, AI doesn’t have self- consciousness ....
