Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is a 2018 remake of the tv show Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Sabrina is half witch, half human and has to challenge high school life with her magic life.

In Part 4 of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, she has to face eight Eldritch Terrors, one being the Void. The Void is the end to all things, reality, the universe etc.

To trap the void and end its existence, Sabrina collects Pandoras box and has to trap the void inside. However, whilst trapping the void, her friends (Harvey, Ambrose and Nick) save all those taken by the Void. All while Sabrina sacrifices herself in order to save her friends and end the Void. Resulting in the void trapped in Pandoras box and Sabrina killed by loss of blood.

Pandora was the first woman on Earth, as she was created by the Gods, each gave Pandora a gift.

She was created as a punishment for mankind, most of her gifts being “beautifully evil”

Pandora was given “pithos” a box/jar to withhold all her gifts but was instructed by the Gods that she couldn’t open the box ever.

Later marrying Epimetheus, who earlier was advised to not accept any gifts from the Gods. Seeing Pandora’s beauty, Epimetheus ignored and accepted her right away.

Pandora tried her hardest to tame her curiosity, but once she no longer could, she opened the box which all the illnesses and hardships that the Gods had gifted her came spilling out.

Scared, Pandora tried to close the box as quick as possible, to prevent the evil spirits coming out but instead closed Hope.

Under Zeus’ will, hope stayed in Pandora’s box as a lesson to mankind that he wanted people to suffer to understand to not disobey their gods.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is a supernatural show, using different mythology, religions, beliefs etc. to create adventures and challenges for Sabrina. Pandoras box is widely known and used in many modern-day pop culture. Hence, the use of Pandora’s box to trap all that is evil is understandable.

For modern context, the show is on Netflix, still using Greek mythology of Pandoras box but reversing it around- using the box to trap all that is evil rather than opening the box withholding the gifts from the Gods’. In 50 minute, 10 episodes the show allows modern viewers to remain entertained (as plays, poems etc. aren’t used as much as tv shows and movies in the 21st century). It is informing the viewers who either don’t know about Pandora’s box or do but with limited knowledge, in an entertaining way. The show includes Greek mythology without being primarily based on it, increasing the number of viewers....
