Food Security in Social Stability and Health 210 WORDS As humans, food security plays a huge role in our overall well-being: food impacts, if not all, most aspects of our daily lives. Not only does this fuel our basic necessity for survival, but it also connects relationships and the community as well. On the other hand,

social stability and health, in simple words, is an "understudied

construct in public health that offers a useful framework for understanding social disadvantage across multiple domains," as said by German and Latkin (2012).

Food security is the people having enough financial and proper access to sufficient and safe food to supply their dietary needs. Moreso, low supply with high demand can make food prices spike up, and this, mostly in urban areas of low and middle-income places, can trigger riots and protests. Thus, it proves that food security promotes national security (Bereuter and Glickman, 2017). Furthermore, it promotes stability and economic opportunities with the possible market expansion to provide enough supply to the demand.

Food security empowers women, families, and future generations. It impacts our health in every way, from securing stable growth for children to a bearing mother's

healthy pregnancy that will also influence the birth rate to grow steadily. It is crucial, and it is necessary for every aspect of life (Leanna Parekh, 2021).
