Hardship Fund Personal statement

I am applying for this hardship fund because I am struggling financially. This year I have been extremely money cautious and have put copious amounts of stress on myself taking up a bar job in my final year of study, which is also the most important year. On top of this, the COVID pandemic has greatly affected me having to self-isolate 3 times so far where have missed out on shifts at work when I needed the money to survive. Prior to the lockdown that started at the beginning of November, I finished my last shift in the bar that I work in as I need to focus on my studies. This means without an income I will be struggling to pay for food, rent bills and so on, before the next student loan. I also had self-isolate as I had the corona virus, which made me miss out on a month’s ay as I had to isolate 1 month in total. When my loan comes in, I pay my full rent until the next loan along with bills so that I solely rely on work to pay for food and everything else in my life. This semester my loan only left me with £100 to pay for this and with the lockdown I now have no job and no furlough. As well as this I have no money to be able to do things socially, outside of university and I fear mental health will deteriorate if I don’t leave my house (when lockdown ends). I also am not able to afford essentials for my course. Law is a very intense course with a lot of essential reading that I need to do along with textbooks and other work I need to complete and not being able to afford textbooks and books for dissertation research I worry that I may fall behind due to the sole purpose that I am struggling financially and the stress that comes with that. Books are expensive and the lack of resources the library offers due to COVID-19 and being in final year I will need to purchase books. My student finance payments only just cover my rent. I can’t ask my parents for money because I come from a family of 5 children and my mum doesn’t work so it would add a lot of pressure on them as I have two younger siblings that obviously need more attention and financial help. Furthermore, my parents have recently got divorced which has created added pressures and stress on my life as well as my whole families. My dad has had to move out and start renting a new home while my mum is now in a house with the children trying to support them as best she can, with help from my dad. Having such a low bank balance makes it difficult to prioritise food, social life, university equipment and time at home. If I got some hardship funding, my stress of feeling the need to have a job would subside and I could hopefully live comfortably in my final year of uni. I hope you take my application into consideration. Thank you....
