Course Description Teaches geographic, demographic, economic, ideological, and other factors conditioning the policies of countries and discusses conflicts and their adjustment. Lecture 3 hours per week. 3 credits General Course Purpose The purpose of this course is to provide an introduction to the complexities of international policies. It is intended for students enrolled in any program of the college and is especially recommended for any student who intends to achieve a four-year degree. Course Prerequisites/Corequisites Ability to use the English language correctly and effectively at the college freshman level. Course Objectives Students who successfully complete the course will be able to do the following: 1. Identify vocabulary and terms used in an international political and legal context. 2. Recognize the importance of international affairs and their potential effect on daily life. 3. Evaluate the importance of international political affairs and their implications for a citizen of a democratic nation. 4. Apply analytic writing and verbal communication skills. 5.
