Argumentative Essay Essay question: Feminism is about women fighting for their rights. Agree or disagree.
Introduction Gloria Steinem once said, ‘’A feminist is anyone who recognizes the equality and full humanity of women and men.’’1. As simple as this concept appears, being a feminist is seen as a very controversial topic nowadays. Some believe it’s good, but others deny any involvement with this ‘men-hating’ movement. This essay takes a look at why feminism is still needed today and if the original idea of women fighting for their rights has changed over the years, considering its current fights.
Conclusion The world is changing and so is feminism. Feminism isn’t just ‘women fighting for their rights’, it helps create an ideal society for both men and women by exterminating discrimination based on gender, race, religion, class and sexual orientation. Everyone needs feminism, therefore can and should be a feminist, regardless of any identities listed above. We’ve come so far, so why stop now?
