Where you fit As AI Engineer, you’ll be getting the chance to join our new AI Engineering team, within our Data Science Centre of Excellence. Here the focus is on the development, deployment and sustainability of Shell’s cutting-edge marketing and advanced analytics platform capabilities, bringing sustainable competitive advantage and business value to the company.

What’s the role? In this wide-ranging role, we’ll be looking to you as a team member to bring your engineering experience and your highly analytical, problem-solving skills to help design and implement the next generation big data platform that will support the digital marketing platform. Working in a highly customer focused team, you’ll prove you can adapt quickly in a fast-paced, everchanging environment, as you use the latest big data and machine learning technology to support future growth and achieve Shell’s strategic targets. Other responsibilities will include: • • •

Designing modern data pipelines to extract, clean and process data. Utilising the latest development, testing and deployment techniques. Helping establish best practices around data governance, data security and privacy.

Naturally, you’re the kind of person who will thrive working virtually with a diverse range of stakeholders across multi-disciplines, from Shell’s IT and business teams, to external software suppliers. Using your skills in collaboration and facilitation to ensure teams are all working towards the same goals.

REQUIREMENTS What we need from you We expect you’ll have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in information technology, computer science, data management business administration or another related discipline. You’ll also call on your strong experience with big data platforms, working with large data sets and numerous big data technologies. Beyond that, we’re keen to hear from men and women with as many of the following on their CV: • • • • • • • • •

Experience with data science scenarios and machine learning frameworks will also be beneficial. Expertise in data architecture and design techniques, and API techniques/developments. Experience with data transformation/blending technology. An awareness of Agile Framework and its tools such as Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS). Some experience in leading teams and resources. Experience in operating in an Agile framework and using its tools. Knowledge of AI technologies will be an advantage. Knowledge of auto software deployment technologies. An ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and balance multiple priorities.
