1. How governance conceptualized by dictionaries? (5 pts) -In most dictionaries governance are interchangeable used, denoting the exercise of authority in an organization, institution or state. 2. Why is politics, civil society and private sectors connected to governance? - According to UNPD, Governance encompasses the state, but it transcends the state by including the private sector and Civil society organizations. 3. Which is broader in scope, governance or government? Why? -Governance is a broader term than government. In its widest sense, it refers to the various ways in which social life in coordinated. Government can therefore be seen as one of the institutions in Governance; it is possible to have governance without government (Heywood, 1997).

Select one of the varying definitions of governance and tell your reason of choosing/preferring it. - Governance According to UNDP, because it explain it clearly than the other definition that given and also easy to understand. In the definition you can read what good governance is. Good governance is, among other things, participatory, transparent and accountable and it is also effective and equitable.
