MAN3121 Leadership – Exam Questions The exam questions will be drawn from the list below. Seven will be on the paper and you are asked to answer four in 3 hours. The seven questions will come from seven separate topics. 1. Values, ethics, and integrity  How do personal values contribute to effective leadership? Illustrate your answer with a reflection model. OR  What is emotional intelligence and how does it help leaders influence others? OR  What is personal mastery and how does it help leaders develop their abilities? 3. Personality and traits  Do leaders have common traits? Discuss the role of traits in leadership theory. 4. Situational leadership  What is situational leadership? Illustrate your answer using a leader as an example. 5. Servant and authentic leadership  What is servant (OR authentic) leadership? Illustrate your answer using a leader as an example. 6. Charismatic and transformational leadership  What is charismatic (OR transformational) leadership? Answering the Questions As you have a good idea of the questions, we expect a high standard of answer. The aim behind essay style questions is to show how much you have learned about each topic. You should write as much as the time allows. A good answer will show evidence of  The key aspects of relevant theory  Important points discussed in class  Reading assigned texts and wider academic works  Addressing the question asked—not going off topic You do not need to reference your answers. Do not write out the question. Keep introductions to a minimum. Conclusions can be helpful but keep them short and to the point. Use headings to structure answers. A different colour pen can be helpful. Diagrams may be a good idea in some cases. Difficult to read handwriting may result in lower marks....
