Description

Organisation Overview https://www.lendlease.com/au/ Lendlease is a globally integrated real estate and investment group with core expertise in shaping cities and creating strong and connected communities. Being bold and innovative characterises our approach and doing what matters defines our intent. We create award-winning urban precincts, new communities for older people and young families just starting out, retail precincts, and workplaces to the highest sustainability standards. We are also privileged to create essential civic and social infrastructure including state-of-the-art hospitals, universities and stadiums around the world. Lendlease has been entrusted with many projects of public, cultural and social significance: constructing the Sydney Opera House, creating the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in New York, and restoring and renovating historic buildings such as London’s Tate Britain and National Theatre. As we expand our experience and our footprint, we aspire to continue creating places people want and care about, and providing value for securityholders and the broader community. Headquartered in Sydney, our people are located in four operating regions: Australia, Europe, the Americas and Asia

Metro Martin Place Project Snapshot https://www.sydneymetro.info/station/martin-place-station | https://www.lendlease.com/martinplacemetro/ The new Sydney Metro Martin Place integrated station development includes the new Martin Place Station, two new buildings above the station as well as new underground pedestrian connections and improvements to the public domain.

The new Martin Place Station will deliver new metro rail services – with the ultimate capacity for a metro train every two minutes in each direction under the Sydney CBD – and will also directly link to existing suburban services at Martin Place. To find out more about the Sydney Metro Martin Place integrated station development, click here. Critical State Significant Infrastructure (CSSI) approval documents relating to the integrated station development can be found at the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment Major Projects website here. Macquarie Group appointed Lendlease as its design and construction partner. Lendlease is proud to be part of the internationally recognised project team focused on delivering this new customer-centred, transport-led destination. This project represents a city changing opportunity for the city and the State. Lendlease recognises the importance of sustainability in creating city shaping projects and promotes social and economic wellbeing in the communities in which it operates. The Lendlease Sustainability Framework responds to this need to plan for future generations by aligning to three key imperatives: 1) 2) 3)

Supporting sustainable economic growth; Creating vibrant and resilient communities and cities; and Fostering a healthy planet and healthy people.

The project intends to deliver an Integrated Station Development (ISD) that leaves a lasting positive impact on Sydney and contributes to enhancing industry capacity. A project of this significance presents outstanding opportunities to do this.

Project Pitch How can we communicate sustainability metrics to the workforce & wider public? The aim of this project is to identify initiatives that could enhance the communication of sustainability metrics to the workforce and the general public. The project has committed to providing dynamic public information displays within the station circulation areas with sustainability related messages. At a minimum, the display(s) will be able to share electricity & water data from physical metering. Your challenge is to research and identify a potential solution on how the project can communicate sustainability metrics to: (a) the construction workforce during construction phase, and (b) the wider public post-completion of the project. You must consider a range of policies, regulations, and standards, as well as demographic of your audience as you approach this challenge. As you work through your solution you will need to ensure that you consider and address the sustainability imperatives outlined in the Lendlease Sustainability Framework. You will also need to consider the existing commitments, strategy and frameworks of the clients, Macquarie and Sydney Metro (included in your student resources). It is our goal to be able to showcase a wide range of sustainability metrics, including but not limited to water efficiency, workforce engagement & diversity, energy use, circular economy, waste and materials, concrete, and steel. You must consider the feasibility of displaying information both internally (during construction) and beyond construction to the public and consider any factors that would prevent/enable you to do so. Your solution should also consider how this could be implemented in a sustainable way as the intent is to leave a long-lasting legacy within this precinct, and how your solution aligns to the social return on investment

Student Deliverables Digital presentation for recommendations and a data-based business report to support your recommendations. This presentation and report will form the basis for an implementation plan and will need to align with the current Lendlease framework with consideration to the commitments, strategy, and frameworks of the clients....
