Dear Sir/ Madam: I am contacting you in regards on behalf of my client, Charlotte Windsor. She is a tenant residing 5889 McLaughlin Avenue. However, her landlord is not cooperating with her demands and I am requesting that a Property Standards Officer investigate this apartment for possible violations of the City of Brampton property standards by-law. On September 7, 2018, Charlotte heard a loud crash coming from her living room. She went out to check and someone had thrown a beer bottle through the window, smashing it and spreading glass shards throughout her living room. Charlotte called the superintendent, Jimmy Brock, but he did not answer his phone at night. In the morning, she inspects the damages and it was worse than she had thought. Charlotte called the superintendent again; he showed up five hours later. Jimmy rolled up the carpet and nailed a piece of plywood over the broken window. The plywood covered the broken window for 3 weeks. Due to the plywood hadn’t been nailed on properly rain and other insects started to invade her apartment. On September 24, 2018, Charlotte called to complain about the delay of fixing the windows; she also told him about the rain and bugs. On October 10, 2018, Charlotte's window was finally fixed. However, the pest infestation was not taken care of. She called Jimmy regarding the pest infestation because they had made their way to the kitchen and have infested the pantry. Jimmy told Charlotte to stop bothering him and that he was not going to compensate her for anything.

I am requesting that a Property Standards Officer investigate the property for possible violations of the City of Brampton property standards by-law.
