HISTORY: Felix Alvarez was brought to Stark Enterprises as chief legal counsel following the dismissal of Bertram Hindel. Felix was soon flung into major cases, forcing the US Justice Department to honor their contract with Stark, investigating the sale of Electronica Fabrizzi and journeying to set up a Hong Kong branch. During the Hong Kong case, Felix was held hostage by the Mandarin; when James Rhodes came to rescue him, he balked at accepting a gun, having no combat experience. After Tony was crippled by his ex-lover Kathy Dare, Felix defended Tony’ honor in court when a vengeful Bert Hindel claimed Stark tried to kill Dare; through excellent character witnesses and uncovering the truth of Dare’s history of psychotic behavior Felix cleared Tony’s reputation and sent Dare into psychiatric custody. When Tony’s aggravated nerve damage led to his seeming death, Felix delivered Tony’s will to Rhodes, in which Rhodes was named Stark Enterprises CEO. Felix served under Rhodes until Tony was finally revealed to have survived through experimental medical treatment, at which point Rhodes quit. Felix helped break Tony’s revival to the world and face the consequences of Rhodes’ term as CEO, notably including Rhodes’ selling the company’s nuclear plants, only for them to be surreptitiously purchased by AIM Felix helped arrange proceedings for AIM to return the nuclear materials and formed a suit against Iron Man’s foe the Controller for making slaves of innocent people. Felix also helped Stark contend with the controversy caused by a series of scandals all related to him having purchased rival company Stane International, which was rife with corruption. Stark Enterprises was eventually bought by Fujikawa Industries, becoming Stark-Fujikawa. Felix’s fate during the tumult of the purchase and the company’s many deviations since then is unrevealed.
