Loblaw's is a Canadian company that started in 1919. The first-ever store was opened in Toronto, ON the self-serve concept is a big hit over the customers and people learned to take advantage of a vast variety of goods at a cheaper price. Loblaw Groceterias managed to expand its store chain to 70 stores in Ontario only, Within the decade. Well in 1924 Loblaws Groceterias expands throughout Ontario and into New York State, Starting an American company headquartered in Buffalo. In 1928 Loblaws Groceterias reached Chicago, Illinois. In 1933 company started meat service and produce departments, also in 1933 T.P Loblaw also called "Merchant Prince" by the media dies at age of 60 by the time of death of T.P Loblaws, Loblaws Groceterias included more than 150 stores in Ontario. In 1939 the name Loblaws appears on storefronts replacing Loblaw Groceterias Co. Limited. In 1947 W. Garfield Weston acquired more than 100,000 shares of Loblaw and in 1949 many fancy things were introduced to customers of Loblaws such as automatic doors, air conditioning and larger parking slots. In 1959 Loblaw entered in trading-stamp wars with its own "Lucky Green Stamps", In 1972 W. Galen Weston is appointed as Chief Executive Officer a complete redesign of the stores were initiated a new logo is adopted and famous Canadian actors started to advertise Loblaws and in 1978 Loblaws started a brand named "No Name" packaging is very attractive done in yellow colour as the sales grow, Loblaw opens a new store "No Frills" in Toronto featuring the No Name lineup. In 1981 Loblaw stepped in pharmacy by opening a pharmaceutical store in Winnipeg. In 1984 a new lineup launched the name "President Choice" and in 1987 Loblaw decided to provide 24-hours service to pharmaceutical stores. In 1989 President's Choice Children is created in this charity every dollar donated straight goes to helping kids and their families. In 1998 Loblaw acquires Quebec based grocery store chain Provigo, in 2001 Shoppers Drug Mart

Corporation (a part of Loblaw) is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. In 2002 "PC Home Line" was launched and the same year their hosted campaign raised more than $17 million for many local charities. In 2005 Loblaw begins offering prepaid long-distance and mobile services. In 2007 Loblaw celebrates its 1000th store opening.
