STATE YOUR GOALS Every organization has a number of goals. State your goals in a hierarchical way. First start with the company’s vision then the company’s mission then the financial goals, then the strategic goals. The goals and the strategies result from the SWOT analysis. Develop a table showing the compatibility of your goals with the analysis. Vision Statement T-Mobile is a cell phone carrier and leader of the revolutionary 5G network. The company’s vision is “To become America’s most highly regarded service company.” Its envision is to offer the best possible service experience and ultimate drive for disruption that creates competition and innovation in wireless. Mission Statement T-Mobile's mission is that they are “leading the 5G revolution and redefining the way consumers and businesses buy wireless services through leading product and service innovation.” Unlike many companies, their mission statement is not clearly found on their website or presented how most companies would. However you can find this statement on their website as well "The value of our plans, the breadth of our coverage, the reliability of our network, and the quality of our service are meant to do one thing: help you stick together with the people who make your life come alive. That’s why we’re here." – T-Mobile USA understanding of how to keep financials accurate and continuous.

SWOT Analysis T-Mobile is a telecommunications company that deals with cellular equipment and cellular service. TMobile offers services such as messaging, data, voice and television streaming. A SWOT analysis is a tool that is used to analyze a company’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. T-Mobile has many strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.

Strengths T-Mobile has much strength that sets it apart in the wireless carrier market. It is the third largest carrier in the United States of America. It is also known to be one of the least expensive wireless carriers compared to AT&T and Verizon Wireless. T-Mobile has one of the best global coverages on the market out of all the carriers. T-Mobile’s consumers have over 210 countries and destinations that include unlimited data usage and texting. Virtually anywhere a T-Mobile consumer travels they can get unlimited data, text and low rate calling. (T-Mobile) This is beneficial because many consumers can call their relatives in other countries. Also, this feature helps with international calls for new business ventures.

Weaknesses T-Mobile has some weaknesses but not many compared to the other wireless carriers. Many consumers complain about the quality of service. T-Mobile customers often complained about dropped calls while using T-Mobiles services. T-Mobile also has poor network performance resulting in consumers to switching to other wireless carriers. Many of T-Mobile customers appreciate the low cost in plans do not approve in the quality and network performance. T-Mobile has expanded their coverage and created new opportunities with 5G networks. Their focus was on adding new towers and improving coverage throughout major cities, they lost focus on rural areas which can result in other companies focusing on rural areas. Opportunities T-Mobile has many opportunities that could make them the worlds greatest in the telecommunications industry. T-Mobile has made the switch to the 5G network. T-Mobile’s nationwide 5G network covers more people and places. It is approximately 30% larger. With 5G access included in a consumer plan there is no extra charge. With merging with Sprint, T-Mobile’s network is larger and better than ever before. T-Mobile also has the fastest nationwide 4GLTE network. Their network has fast speed and can reach over 200 million people. Many people are concerned with their phone being within “range” and with T-Mobile’s 4GLTE a consumer will not have to worry about their phone being within “range.” The merger with Sprint will create more opportunities for T-Mobile. This will create more opportunities for T-Mobile to build the best wireless company. This will also create more powerful network and will cover more offices, create more jobs as well as spread to more countries. It will also create a more powerful 5G network. T-Mobile will offer new products and services which will create new opportunities which will

attract investors. This will also allow T-Mobile’s portfolio to become diverse. T-Mobile announced that the new Motorola razr will be coming to the carrier. This will attract new consumers because the razr brings back the old school flip phone reinvented and tapping into T-Mobile’s LTE and 5G spectrum. By offering new products and services this will keep T-Mobile’s consumers happy as well as attract new ones.

Threats T-Mobile has many different threats to the company. One threat to T-Mobile is competition. T-Mobile’s competition includes AT&T, Verizon, Comcast, Spectrum, Altice, CenturyLink, and many others. The telecom companies are extremely cutthroat when it comes to competition. Mobile devices, broadband internet forces are creating a fight for market shares by lowering prices. To keep up with the competition, T-Mobile must spend capital. Telecom companies are continuing to invest in infrastructure to provide better services for consumers. The major telecom companies will continue to compete causing tension amongst each other. Consumers switching wireless carrier poses a threat. The reason many switch carriers is due to quality. Verizon wireless and AT&T consumers are loyal to their carrier as well as they are happy with the quality of service. T-Mobile attracts consumer because of the low prices but the quality is questionable.

Environmental Assumptions- Leslie As for the environmental assumptions, we will discuss how each of our external factors will look like and affect T-Mobile in the future. This will help us make decisions and develop strategic control. As mentioned before, T-Mobile’s financial future looks promising and successful. Let’s have that in mind when looking at the Assumptions chart created below. On the other hand, let’s not forget to look at the risk and uncertainty that comes with each one of the external factors and provide solutions to each problem foreseen in the company’s future. Assumptions Chart based on T-Mobile’s goals Economic

T-Mobile’s economic future looks bright since global coverage in the telecommunications industry keeps expanding. In addition, an international coverage that can be used by many people increases consumer consumption and decreases price. Since many carriers will be trying to get more customers and they will all offer the same products (coverage), the only distinction will be the price they charge to their customers. It is important to highlight consumers and investors’ view towards the ongoing pandemic. With 2 new vaccines with over 90% efficacy, people seem motivated to start working and going out more. There is a downside to this, as long as the vaccines are not approved and they don’t finish testing them, people still have to wait and remain cautious of the virus as lately cases have been increasing and we currently have over 250K deaths

in the country. Sociopolitical

T-Mobile’s socio political environment is uncertain. With a new elected president and his team, it is hard to predict his moves. However, the future looks promising. One thing expected is that this future government will allow products that were banned earlier. For example: Huawei from China. Perhaps, it will also welcome international employees with ideas to develop better strategies in the organization. Also, depending on an increase or decrease of taxes for most of the company’s consumers (middle working class), T-Mobile possesses an uncertainty in how consumers will be able or not to pay for the company’s products, thus reducing profit margins.

Competitive

As far as competition goes, T-Mobile consumers and telecommunication consumers in general keep switching from one carrier to another carrier. For the following reasons: Consumers look for lower prices, newest features, great customer service, appealing products and services, promotions and offers, etc. If the company really wants to get more customers, they need to keep up with trends and always adjust their marketing strategy to expand their market. Some solutions to the issues explained above are: Open locations in hot points, hire people with a positive attitude if they will be dealing with customers’ concerns and that are motivated to grow and learn, great marketing team that will expand target market and make products more accessible.

Technological

Another 2 opportunities of T-Mobile is being the leader in the 5G network and its merger with Sprint. Now, that these 2 companies are a single entity, they can unite resources to find the newest, most modern, technological products. If they are the first ones to come up with a very attractive product or service, such as the 5G Network, it gives them a competitive advantage. Another important point to consider in the technology sector is the risk of cybersecurity or breaches. T-Mobile should hire an excellent team of network and security engineers to carefully develop and follow products that align with privacy statements that consumers are asking for. Consumers want to have their data protected, secure, and not have to worry about external parties getting their personal (such as medical) information without their consent.

Organizational Culture-Kristi T-Mobile has a positive working environment. In 2020 T-Mobile was #53 in Fortune Best Workplaces for Women, #75 in Fortune Best workplaces for millennials and #42 in Fortune 100 best Companies to work for 2020. (Working at T-Mobile US, Inc.)
