Description

Draft of Personality Disorder Tiffanie Gordon CJ-303

Samuel Little was born in 1940 as Samuel McDowell (Pak, 2020). Little was from Reynolds, Georgia, and Little stated that his mother was a teenage prostitute that abandoned him on the side of the road (Meding, 2020). He then went to live with his grandmother in Lorraine, Ohio, where he started getting into trouble at school and eventually dropped out of high school (Pak, 2020). Little started getting in trouble with the law in his teens. His crimes began with theft which caused him to be put in a juvenile detention facility. As years went on, his crimes became more severe, including fraud, driving under the influence, assault, armed robbery, and rape (Pak, 2020). “By 1975, he had been arrested over 25 times across 11 states. In total, he served 10 years from these various offenses and escaped two murder convictions before his 2014 conviction” (Pak, 2020). `

Once Little was finally apprehended and convicted in California for the murders of three

women, he confessed to a Texas Ranger, James Holland, that he killed 93 women over the decades (Meding, 2020). During these interviews, Little was able to provide information about each of his victims, including their ages, names, how they met, what they looked like, where and how he killed them, and where he disposed of the bodies. Little had a nearly photographic memory about each murder where he used manual strangulation on each of the women. He could even draw pictures of each victim that was almost identical (Meding, 2020). With this information, law enforcement agencies across the country were able to solve 50 cold cases (Diaz, 2020). Samuel Little was named the most prolific serial killer in U.S. history and was indeed a psychopath. He felt no remorse or empathy for any of his victims, and he even stated that all of the women he killed are his friends, and if they weren’t dead, they would see him as a friend (Meding, 2020). The fact that he believes that is another indication that he is a psychopath. His

crimes show his disregard for others which is another trait that he is a psychopath. The main reason that Samuel little is classified as a psychopath and not a sociopath is because of his complete lack of empathy and remorse. During interviews with investigators, he showed signs of sexual arousal while describing his victims and their murders. He also gloated about how many times he got away with it and talked about one time where he almost got caught (Meding, 2020).
