CRIMINAL JUSTICE COMPONENTS 2 Module Seven Journal The criminal justice field has different components that have to work collaboratively to ensure justice is paramount within a specific region (Peak & Madensen, 2018). The main features of the criminal justice system include policing, correction, and courts. Majorly, in each component, there are various careers. The main aim of this paper is to discuss the selected careers in the three components. Policing: In this component, the local policing career was selected. This career involves law enforcement within a specific region in a particular country, for example, towns, villages, and streets (Sanders, Young, & Burton, 2010). The standards for the career include investigations, public control, public relations, and riots management. The policing officer in the career must ensure that federal laws are followed. Correction: The selected career in this field is substance abuse counseling. This career is mandated to foresee all the suspects/inmates who have drug use behaviors as they await to be taken into a court of law. The correction officer in this career gives guidance and counselling to the inmates on how to manage the condition. The standards for the task are that one must have effective communication, understanding of mental health, and also behavioral therapy. Court: A judge's career was selected in this field. The judge is mandated to make constitutional interpretations and make decisions regarding any reported case. A judge must understand the law, psychological knowledge, sociological understanding, as well as logical communication skills. Notably, the competencies help the judge to make effective decisions for the people.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE COMPONENTS 3 Relationships between the careers The three carriers work together to ensure that justice is attained (Peak & Madensen, 2018). The local police ensure that there is an order in the community and prevent issues of public misconduct. Once a person does not comply, he or she is arrested and taken to a court of law. In case the person was addicted to the use of drugs, the substance abuse counselor should correct him or her before he/she is taken before a judge in a court of law. Current Trend The current issue of alcohol abuse and addiction, particularly by young people, should be addressed by the substance abuse counselor in case they are charged with any crime.
