ABOUT MUKWANO Mukwano Group of Companies is one of the leading and most respected conglomerates in East and Central Africa. Its humble foot in East Africa and established a trading company. Having pioneered Uganda’s economic resurgence through manufacturing of laundry soap and edible cooking oil in the late 1980s, the group has today attained regional recognition for production of a wide range of high quality and affordable Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCGs). These goods range from laundry and toilet soaps, edible oils and fats, detergent powders, domestic and industrial plastics, jellies, mineral water and liquid detergent. Mukwano has acquired ISO 9001:2015 & 22000:2005 (Reg: No. 0302010), Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) and the Halal Bureau certificates.

Over a period of three decades, this business expanded with into manufacturing, agriculture, property d e v e l o p m e n t , logistics, supply chain management and packaging to name a few.

RWENZORI COMMODITIES LTD In January 1993, Rwenzori Commodities limited started its operations in Kabarole and Kyenjojo districts in Western Uganda by rehabilitating and planting 2790 hectares of tea (seedlings and Clonal) out of 5700 hectares of land. Buzirasagama, Hiima, Munobwa and Kigumba Tea factories were built with a capacity of 220,000 Green Leaf or 53,000kg Made Tea per day. At Hiima and Kigumba there are two lines of Orthodox Tea manufacturing units with a production capacity of 20,000Kg Green leaf or 4,000 Made Tea per day. Green Tea, which contains high levels of anti-oxidants, is Rwenzori Commodities’ new product produced at the Kigumba factory with a production capacity of 1000Kg green leaf or 250 kg Made Tea per day.
