NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct and Statement of Commitment Ethics denotes the standards that define what is wrong and right. The term is import in everyday life as it acts as a guide on how a person should act and the needed traits for a person to be perceived as good. Without the implementation of a unified ethical system, it would be difficult to manage relationships. For instance, there would be high levels of irresponsibility, dishonesty, and uncouth ways as people would act the way they want. Similarly, ethics are highly valuable in education, especially in relation to teaching children. They guide educators to structure their actions and the teaching environment to run smoothly for the benefit of the children, the school, parents, and community in general. This is especially necessary because the process of teaching children is both rewarding and challenging. Educators who deal with kids are given the opportunity to shape the lives of children. However, there is the possibility of causing harm to kids. NAEYC ethical guidelines revolve around the responsibility of teachers to children, and all stakeholders involved, constituting, colleagues, society, and parents. The paper analyzes the four sets of commitment detailed in NAEYC and how they resonate with personal abilities. The first set of commitment entails ethical responsibility to children. Both the ideals and principles outlined in NAEYC in relation to kids urge the need to create a conducive environment that encourages the effective growth of children. Educators have a huge responsibility to ensure that no harm comes to children. They should ensure that the impact they create in the lives of their students is positive by liaising with all stakeholders for effectual learning and growth process. As per the ethical standards of educators to children, educators' first responsibility should be to kids under their care. It is important for teachers to stay ahead of all research in relation to teaching and children. Hence, they should position themselves in a manner

that they stay abreast of the latest educational studies and incorporate the skills in their practice effectually. In essence, teachers should be flexible to ensure that kids turn out to be productive people in the community. Teachers are also necessitated to embrace the concept of diversity. They should be able to recognize the uniqueness of every kid and how their backgrounds affect their learning process and development. Educators should champion for efficacious growth and learning of kids with special needs. They should be able to orchestrate a productive environment where every unique necessity presented by kids is handled productively to allow the associated students to learn effectively. In other terms, teachers should create a comfortable environment where all types of kids can unlock their potential and derive the positive aspects of education. The primary theme in commitment to children is the responsibility of educators never to cause harm to students under their care. On the contrary, teachers should safeguard kids from any potential injury like abuse and are tasked with the responsibility to report any suspicion of a kid being hurt promptly. NAEYC Code of ethics also provides ethical responsibilities of educators towards parents. It is important for educators and parents to collaborate in order to aid children in unlocking their potentials fully. The NAEYC Code of ethics dispenses the direction for teachers to create an effective relationship and cooperation with parents through championing for open communication between the school and home. Hence, teachers are tasked with the duty of formulating events and environment where parents can be free and encouraged to be part of the learning process of their children. For instance, teachers should be able to dispense a welcoming learning space for families to come and experience what goes on in the lives of their children at school, daycare, or any other institution dealing with childcare. The code of ethics further necessitates that teachers should identify diversity and the different literacy status of all parents.

This is to ensure that all literature and informing materials are structured to resonate with the abilities of recipients. For example, such materials should be in a linguistic that is comprehendible by parents. The other set of commitments in NAEYC is affiliated with teachers and their colleagues. The guidelines advocate for the highest level of professionalism from teachers towards their coworkers and employers. Teachers should be able to work productively in their respective institutions by collaborating with other colleagues, including bosses, for the benefit of the children under their care. Educators and child caregivers are tasked with the responsibility of adhering to confidentiality standards and ensure that they safeguard the brand of the organization they work for. In general, teachers should ensure that they always protect their profession and help employers and co-workers achieve their career enhancement objectives. The final set of ethical responsibilities necessitated from teachers is affiliated with the community. As per NAEYC guidelines, teachers associated with children should venture to create a society that is conducive to the effective growth of all kids. As such, educators should be involved with programs and campaigns that advocate for a peaceful and productive community for children, such as by championing passage, implementation, and adherence to beneficial children's rights. Teachers should also venture to teach the community of the ways and benefits of creating an environment that is instrumental in the effectual growth of children. Of the four sets, the two that I need to get better comprehension constitute ethical responsibilities to the community and coworkers. The two are multi-faceted as they involve a wide range of individuals and factors. There is a need to comprehend how the community can be shaped by individual and collective actions from all teachers. There may arise a dilemma when spearheading for a policy that may not resonate well with all stakeholders in the community.

Hence, it is important to increase my understanding of how to find a balance between all factors to ensure that all actions are meant for the betterment of children and society as well. Similarly, work relationships are not entirely simple. There are occasions that might require a teacher to report a school for misconduct while at the same time, they are required to protect the institution they work for. Hence, it is important to gain more comprehension on how to deal with all situations between a teacher, the institution, and colleagues ethically. Of the two sets where more comprehension will be needed, the one that will require greater effort is relationships with employers and co-workers. The interactions at work are important as they determine the working environment and, ultimately, the satisfaction of all employees. It is vital for a productive balance to be implemented where all employees can work collaboratively for the benefit of the institutions and children. Factors like conflict resolution, how to champion for the growth of all individuals, especially professionally, and the interconnection between workers is necessitated to create a conducive working and learning environment. Hence, I will need to put more effort into understanding how to be a better employee and, in turn, a better teacher. Statement of Commitment As an education student and a future teacher, I am committed to observing all the ethical guidelines in the field. I will ensure that the impacts I inflict on children will be positive and will venture to empower them to unlock their best potentials. I will further work towards understanding the field of education and stay updated on all recent research and, subsequently, implement productive innovations in my teachings practice. I further aim to recognize diversity among children, parents, colleagues, and workers and implement specialized techniques that will benefit all stakeholders. I am committed to embracing strategies that will generate a positive and

productive relationship between me as a teacher and all parents and colleagues. Also, I will be an ambassador for the organization I work for and the teaching profession. In general, I will ascertain I adhere to all the ethical guidelines stipulated in NAEYC. Conclusion The code of ethics stipulated by NAEYC aims to safeguard the professional integrity of all children, educators, and kids’ caregivers. The standards further ensure that teachers and all individuals dealing with children cause no harm to kids. Ethical standards are important to ensure that children are molded to be productive individuals and unlock their potential as they grow....
