ForthisAssessmentTask,asaCaseStudy,intheroleofaChefwithsupervisorykitchenresponsibilities inAVETA’sCafe,youwillberequiredtoresolvethreecustomercomplaints(asCaseStudies)whereyou willberequiredtodefusetheconflictsituationbytakingswiftandtactfulactiontopreventtheconflict fromescalating.
Inaddition,ifrequiredwhenmanagingtheconflictsituationyoualsowillberequiredtoidentifywhere thepersonalsafetyofcustomersorkitchenstaffmaybethreatenedandorganiseappropriate assistance(thiscouldincludeusingresourcestoassistyouinmanagingconflictsituations).

CaseStudy‐CustomerComplaint1:AsaRoleplay
Acustomerhascomplainedaboutthedelayofserviceduringabusylunchtimeserviceperiod.The customer,atthetimeofplacingtheorder,advisedthewaitingstaffthattheyhadalimitedtimeperiod forlunchandhadonlyplacedtheirorderwhenadvisedbytheirwaitingstaffthatthekitchenhas confirmedthattherewouldbesufficienttimeforthemtoproduceandservethecustomerorderwithin thetimeperiodspecifiedbythecustomer.Thistimeperiodhasnowexpiredandthecustomerhas requestedtospeaktothesupervisoryCheftoregisteracomplaintaboutthisdelayinservice. Accordinglywhentheplatewasservedthecustomercomplainedtothewaitingstaff,inaloudvoice, thattheyweredisappointedthattheirrequestwasmisunderstoodandrequestedtospeaktothe supervisoryCheftoregisteracomplaintaboutthismisunderstanding.
