Description

NINE ATTRIBUTES OF GOD Since Jesus Christ is God’s final word, there will be no further revelation after him. To see Jesus is to see the Father. Attributes of God has revealed for us several of his attributes. The Apostle’s Creed identifies only one of God’s attributes: omnipotence. This means the God is loving, merciful, and gracious power. St Thomas Aquinas listed the following 9 attributes of God that are evidenced through history and in scriptures: 1. God is unique. There is no God like Yahweh (Isaiah 45:18) - own uniqueness to others 2. God is infinite and omnipotent. God is everywhere, unlimited, and allpowerful. God can do everything (Psalms 135:5-6) - God is the alpha and the omega (beginning and end) 3. God is eternal. God always was and always will. God is the being who cannot not be (Isaiah 40:28) - God will remain the same each day 4. God is immense. God is not limited to space (1 Kings 8:27) - is the creator of everything 5. God contains all things. - When we die, we don’t have problems and have a great reunion with all the saints 6. God is immutable. God does not change (Psalms 102:25-28) - God isn’t sleeping 7. God is utterly simple, a pure Spirit. The opposite of simple is complex which means divisible into parts. In God there are no parts, no divisions. God is not a material. God’s image cannot be made (Exodus 20:4)

God is simple in spirit

8. God is alive (the source of all life). Knows all the things and love and cares beyond limit. God is Personal. The saving of God manifested personal love through the compassionate acts in the history of the Israelites and most supremely by sending his Son, Jesus Christ, to all people (Jeremiah 31:3) 9. God is holy. Holiness is a quality of being absolutely other than the other creatures (Isaiah 55:8). God’s goodness and love are unlimited. We cannot praise the holy God enough. Creator of Heaven and Earth. Both Scripture and Tradition firmly teach that the Triune God created out of his wisdom and love to show forth and communicate His glory. - We try to be Holy because God is Holy

Creation is not the result of blind change or fate. God created out oh his love, wisdom, and great desire to share his beauty, truth, goodness, and life, especially by making us as his adopted children through Jesus Christ by power of the Holy Spirit. The opening verse of the Bible proclaims that God alone is the Creator of all things that exist outside of himself, he alone keeps everything that is in existence

He created the world because of love and we will continue to exist int eh world because of the love of God

Therefore, anything in the world including the human being is eternal.

God freely created an orderly and good world out of nothing. God is totally beyond us. At the same time, God is present to us, upholding and sustaining creation....
