Health Teaching

Regular insulin works by lowing levels of glucose in the blood. Insulin Regular is short acting and starts to

work within 30 minutes after injected. Along with peaking in 2 to 3 hours. This insulin keeps working up to 8 hours.  low blood sugar  swelling in your hands or feet  weight gain  thickening or hollowing of the skin where medicine was injected 

You should not use insulin if you are having an episode of hypoglycemia.



Promoting understanding of diabetes type 1 and 2 along with the treatment regimen.



Regular insulin is not approved for use by anyone younger than 2 years old. This medicine should not be used to treat type 2 diabetes in a child of any age.



Teach patient how to check blood glucose levels, how to draw up insulin and properly administer the dosage.
