Decrease in pain without a significant alteration I level of consciousness or respiratory status. Sedation Nausea and vomiting Constipation and sweating May interact with; alcohol, benzodiazepines or other CNS depressants (other opioids, sedatives/hypnotics, antidepressants, anxiety medications, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, general anesthetics, antipsychotics, phenothiazines, neuroleptics, antihistamines, antiemetics, and alcohol), beta-blockers, anticoagulants, antimuscarinics, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), and serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRIs)
Withhold dose and contact physicians if there is a decline in patient’s condition or if vital signs are abnormal
Health Teaching
Take Statex exactly as directed on the prescription or package label. Don’t take more Statex or take it more often than
Educate re: OTC medication use, dosage limits Oral forms should be taken with food to minimize gastric upset
