The numerous roles of the nurse within health care organizations are explored. The healthy work environment and its influence on nurses, nursing practice and outcomes are analyzed. Systems and processes to achieve and sustain quality health outcomes, and safe, effective, patient-centered holistic nursing care are examined in depth. Legal and ethical issues related to these topics are addressed.

You need to back-up everything! 11. The word processing software that is used in this class is Microsoft Word. When you send files electronically, you must send them as a Microsoft Word document. Assignments submitted through course or UB email will not be accepted. 2. Permission may be granted for late submission if a request is made to the course faculty through UB email before the assignment due date.

3. Assignments submitted after the due date without prior notification will be accepted up to twenty-four hours after the assignment due date. Assignments submitted within this twentyfour hour window will have the grade reduced by 10 points. Assignments submitted after the twenty-four hour due date will be assigned a zero (0). 4. NOTE: All assignments must include the following header: First and Last Name, Course Name and Number, and the assignment name. Please allow for timely upload of grades. The Gradebook on UBLearns is for the posting of grades only. Calculation of grades will be done using an Excel spreadsheet. 2. The grade of incomplete will not be assigned except under exceptional circumstances. The student must be in good standing at the time of the request, and it is given at the discretion of the faculty. The form for the written request is available in the Office of Student Affairs. Conditions for removal of the Incomplete will be stated, along with a time frame for completion. If these conditions are not met a default grade determined by faculty will be assigned. Consistently late with assignments, missing a quiz, or poor netiquette will result in a reduction of points and grade.
