The organization we will be focusing on is Jobster.io Jobster.io is a service that matches job seekers with employers. The organization offers free services for post-secondary students, and additionally premium services that includes a six month job guarantee. The organization works through 120 on demand career consultants, and a small permanent staff. Jobter.io has been in business for three years and has been been applying AI enabled solutions since 2019. Most potential customers have asked Jobster.io about their AI enabled services and how potential issues of AI bias, transparency and ethics are addressed. Jobster.io is expanding into the post-secondary student job market with the main customers being College and University institutions, and is looking for advice on different options. In addition to Jobster.io’s website, you are required to read the materials provided on Canvas, and the article links provided in this document that describes how Human Resources software products are being implemented, and how a number of algorithmic bias issues have been detected after implementation. Most of the issues could have been preventively addressed with the right management and business decisions early in the process. Some of the readings describe the issues, while others point to possible solutions. You do not have to be a Technology or Human Resources expert to understand the issues or solutions, but you do need to be able to recognize similar issues, and the financial implications of potential solutions when you will come across them in your work.
