ONLINE ENROLMENT INSTRUCTIONS FOR CURTIN MAURITIUS STUDENTS Please read carefully all instructions given below before proceeding with your online enrolment 1. Enrolment requires that you select the units you wish to study in a particular study period. You will be able to enrol online for a maximum of four units each semester. YOU WILL BE ABLE TO ENROL ONLINE VIA OASIS BETWEEN MONDAY 11 JANUARY 2021 AND FRIDAY 29 JANUARY 2021 (A late penalty of Rs. 2,000 will be charged if enrollment and payment are done after 29 JANUARY 2021). DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ENROL PRIOR TO 11 JANUARY 2021 AS THE ONLINE SYSTEM MAY NOT BE READY!

Seek counselling with your Head of Faculty prior to completing your online enrolment if required. Online Enrolment via OASIS will be available after 29 JANUARY 2021 UNTIL 05 MARCH 2021 (but with a late penalty fee of Rs. 2,000). There are two types of units: • •

Core units- these are compulsory units for your course and/or major. If you do not enrol in and pass these units, you cannot complete your course. Electives- these are units that you can choose from units offered by any school or department at Curtin, as long as the prerequisites have been met. (While it is recommended you select units relevant to your course, they do not have to be so.)

Note: All Double Major programmes will only have Core units – all units are prescribed, you will have no choices All Single major programmes will consist of both Core and elective units. 2. Attached is a copy of your study plan for your chosen programme of study. You will need to enrol for the study units we have assigned for semester 1 2021 ONLY, i.e (Units highlighted in COLOUR on your study plan). If for some reason, you want to change your assigned units on your study plan you must approach your Head of Faculty or the Registrar Academic to seek advice and permission. This is very important as all units are NOT available each semester, and changing your plan could delay your completion and graduation. 3. Situations where you MUST contact the Academic Registrar or your Head of Faculty before you can proceed with online enrolment:

CONDITIONS GOVERNING OVERLOADING WITH FIVE UNITS (IN YOUR FINAL SEMESTER ONLY) Please note that overloading with five units is not automatic. Curtin will only approve your request to enrol for five units in your final semester, provided: o you have successfully completed 475 credits, that is, passed 19 units and you are about to enroll in your final year and final semester o your academic performance was consistent and satisfactory over the full duration of your course and you should have a CWA of at least 65% o and your academic status is on Good Standing • • •

If you need to request for a substitution unit, you will not be able to enrol for that specific unit unless it has been approved and added on your study plan If you have not met the prerequisites for a specific unit. You will not be able to enrol online for that unit until you have met the prerequisite requirement Students cannot self-enrol into the MKTG3009 Business Internship unit. You will first need to enrol in all your other units and then send us an email after you have enrolled in your other units. We will then proceed to enroll you in the Business Internship unit. Your online registration is blocked If you have sanction on your account or if you are on terminated status. In some cases, students are required to complete their Academic Integrity Program (AIP test) or any EDU Active program as prompted on e-Student, otherwise their OASIS accounts will be sanctioned and they will not be able to enrol

In all of the above cases, please contact Student Services who will refer you to the Academic Registrar Office 4. WITHDRAWAL FROM STUDY UNITS You should not attempt to withdraw from study units by yourself during the semester, without informing us. Please meet your Head of Faculty if you wish to withdraw. 1. On the screen will be a list of the units available for enrolment. This is called your Study Plan. Your units may be divided into two sections, units on your plan at course level and units on your plan at major/stream level. 2. Units are marked as Core, Optional, or Elective. The process for enrolling in core units, options and electives is slightly different, so please read the instructions for each unit type below. 3. In order to enrol in a unit, it must be "planned". This means that it must appear on the Study Plan. Core units automatically appear on your Study Plan, but you must follow the instructions below to add options and electives to your Study Plan.

Enrolling in Core Units A planned unit is a core unit, which is compulsory for your course and/or major. If you do not enrol in and pass these units, you cannot complete your enrolled course.

Core units are indicated by a C icon: Core units are already on your Study Plan, and are therefore already planned and ready for enrolment. Consequently, a star icon will be displayed beside the unit, and the unit will be highlighted TEAL colour on your study plan.

NB: The elective unit should not be a core/compulsory unit which already forms part of your course structure/study plan.
