Description

:Initial Observation In the beginning, there were two tiny boys sitting at the table eating peaches from a jar. While grabbing his spoon from the plastic dish, the little child inadvertently drops his peaches. The boy then says, "I want to eat some more," and reaches down to pick up the dish from the floor. The teacher promptly stops the toddler from picking up the soiled peaches from the floor and tells him, "There are no more peaches." "That's unclean," the woman says, explaining why the boy can't eat the peaches that have just fallen on the floor. She then offers the boy a banana, which he declines, and the boy, in response, begins to tap her with the spoon from his mouth. She explains that he wasn't meant to have thrown the peaches on the floor, or else there would have been some left. The little child begins to cry and throws himself on the floor as the mother goes away. The mom returns after telling the children on the way back to keep eating their peaches. She gives the little boy Joshua the option of eating bananas or returning to class. So the woman makes the decision for him and takes him up, kicking and flapping his arms, to return him to class. Joshua then throws a toy bus at the woman as she places him on the floor. Joshua lets out a loud scream and starts crying even louder.

ADULT OBSERVATION : The teacher did a wonderful job throughout the clip of showing consideration for the child's perspective by being flexible when the child asked for more food by supplying bananas at the start of the session. She then offered him a banana when he requested for more peaches because there were none left. The teacher used exceptionally respectful words and a loving, calm voice when speaking to the youngster. In addition, while speaking at the table where snack time was taking place, I bowed down and maintained eye contact with the child. Throughout the first part of the conversation, she offered advice on how the boy may .continue snacking
