Acute vs. chronic, urgent vs. nonurgent, stable vs. unstable
Nurses care for those with highest priority first. Acute has priority ov chronic, urgent before nonurgent, and unstable before stable
Survival potential : For situations in which health resources are extremely limited (mass casualties, disaster triage)
Give priority to those with a reasonably chance of survival. Clients with limited chance of survival with even intense interventions are given lowest priority.
Maslow's hierarchy
Physiological, safety and security, love and belonging, self-esteem, an then self-actualization.
