Final Information Kit: Subject Proposal PR 209 Maya Cheung For my final informational kit project, I would like to focus on Disney and how they are releasing their new Disney Plus streaming service this November. The purpose of my kit will be to inform and understand how The Walt Disney Company is structured in the context of its creation and release of Disney Plus, and what this new streaming service will mean for the subscription and streaming market as a whole. I will pretend to be a PR representative from a data company that makes money off of selling, analyzing, and manipulating data. Therefore, I will also examine how Disney can use the data it collects from Disney Plus. Materials I will include in my kit: - Facts sheet on what Disney Plus is, how it will be used, where the idea came from, etc. - News release on a new feature of Disney Plus or a new brand collaboration with Disney Plus that Walt Disney announces will be included in their subscription package - A brochure showing the different services and packages that will be offered by Disney Plus OR a brochure for companies/TV shows/movies that potentially want to collaborate with Disney Plus or put their content on Disney Plus, showing them what benefits a brand partnership would have - An FAQ about what data Disney Plus will be able to collect, how Disney will use the data, and - A profile of the head manager or head of operations or president of the team that is working on Disney Plus under The Walt Disney Company - A News release on what other streaming services such a Netflix and Hulu think about the upcoming release of Disney Plus I want my audience to understand what Disney Plus is, and how it is different than other streaming services and how that is partly due to the fact that a pre-existing and flourishing multimedia entertainment company is starting it. I want the reader to understand how Disney Plus is going to fit into the business model of Disney as a whole and what the release of this service will mean for the streaming, movie, and production industry. I find this topic very interesting as streaming is an emerging and growing industry and Disney is a corporation that already holds a lot of power in other forms of media but is just now breaking into the streaming industry. Not to mention, I enjoy Disney movies and content and examining the Disney business model....
