(Answer using a Metacognitive Response) At the funeral of his mother, he expresses none of the expected emotions of grief. When being asked whether he wishes to see his mom, he refuses. The reason why he does that maybe because he does not have a good relationship with his mom so he thinks he

should not see her face for the last time or maybe he is just a stranger. After that, he starts smoking and orders coffee for himself in front of his mom’s coffin. Marie really cares about it but she does not say anything, all she does is to keep silent so she will not take any problems, she just concentrates at Meursault and continues accepting to go to the theater with Meursault and then goes home with him. It maybe

(Use a quote and paraphrase) After having 2 day-offs at work, not his routine, Meursault again does not follow his schedule as usual by have a meal at home instead of going to the Celeste’s restaurant because he does not like being questioned, especially after his mom’s funeral had just finished on the previous day. “My bedroom overlooks the main street of our district”.
