This semester in English 102 was different from when I took the English101 In English 101, I learned the basics of writing an essay and learning the different types of grammar. We wrote and learned how to write an essay. In English 102 we actually wrote the essays and we researched many of our essay topics like the research issue proposal, the Rhetorical Analysis etc. Over the past four months, I have learned that professors have different teaching methods. Still, my responsibility is to learn their techniques and apply them to my assignments. Before I entered college, I would say that English is my worst subject, but as I progressed throughout this year. I realized that my writing continues to improve. During this course, I have made several general habits. One habit was planning out my assignments. I always start my essays by making an outline and writing down what my thesis, blueprint, and body paragraphs are, so I know what I'm doing. In English 101, it was harder for me to write an outline than to write the essay out. But in English 102, it was easier for me to make an outline and harder to write an essay. Another habit was I was not allowing myself enough time to complete the assignments. Whenever I plan out my homework time, I would get sidetracked and start

procrastinating .The final habit was not taking advantage of my resources. I wouldn't seek that much help from professors. I have made several college goals throughout the semester. The first goal was to be able to write a well organized research argument essay. Another goal was to be able to write a perfect essay. And would grab the attention of the audience. My final goal was to better my grammar, punctuation, and spelling rules of a standard written English Research paper with a minimum of errors as possible grammatical errors in my essays were always a lot. I think I still need improvement in grammar. English 102 was not easy for me, but I got through it. I feel as though I improve in essay organization and development because I got better in writing coherently. Even though writing essays is a little complicated, in the future, I will need to write more essays and have stronger reading comprehension and critical thinking skills because my major is a biological science major, and I would be writing more research essays. I hope to continue improving my research writing skills in the future....
