Description

Village of the Watermills compares a technologically powered world that today has an effect on most people with a village lifestyle that is called simplistic and uses what the Earth has to offer. Village of Watermills demonstrates that modern kind of life does not ensure happiness. "People get used to convenience as the old man says in the video. People consider simplicity to be the most important, people nowadays throw away what is really valuable.” While technology has made our lives better, it has also created a separation between us and the Earth. The short film depicts that what is truly wonderful are the things we have taken for granted and neglected, the things we cannot do without, which is nature. They don`t want to damage the environment by cutting the trees to create fire and there are plenty that come down naturally for people to utilize. We only need what is absolutely required because, in the end, our lives are more important than money or technology. The film is a wake-up call to mankind, a lesson against technology's worship and addiction, as well as its explosive growth. Kurosawa's Dreams shows two possible futures, it gives us a clear message that we have a common choice of what our future will become. Kurosawa begs us all to act now, before it's too late. At the end of the day, it's just us and nature, -, and if we work hard to realize that and know what's important, we might be able to find peace that we deserve....
