Reflection assignment for chapter 5....

Description

Reflection Paper: Chapter 5 Levi Mann Chapter 5 is about learning. This chapter has to be one of the most related to my life than any other. The whole reason I believe we are on this Earth is to explore and learn everything we can in the short amount of time we have! That being said, I treat everything as a learning experience. I was able to observe my parents living the way I wanted to live. My dad grew up as a farmer. In doing so, he developed skills of solving problems with limited resources, such as fixing a tractor for weekend use to get by while waiting for the parts store to open the following Monday. Necessity is the mother of invention he would always say. Now I find myself using the same principles. I am an Aerospace Engineering major, and to be an engineer I will need to learn how to adapt when it seems impossible. This summer, to keep my mind occupied, I have decided to take on the project of building a remote control plane, and of course this project has come with some challenges. I have purchased some of the necessary equipment needed that I would not be able to reproduce, such as the motor, transmitter and receiver, and propellers, other than that, I have built the plane from scratch. Before now, I had never flown a remote controlled airplane. That alone can have its difficulties, but adding in the scratch build makes it an engineering certified project. So I have taken it out several times now. The first few flights were far from perfect. I have had to learn how to repair a broken fuselage, fix a tattered aileron, and figure out a way to keep parts from falling off. Each time the plane hits the ground I have learned something new about how to fly an RC plane. I still wouldn’t be able to win any competitions, but I have improved drastically in my flying and repairing skills! I am looking forward to building my next plane now. If I did not welcome the learning experience, flying this plane would discourage me, but I am an engineer, and soon I might be able to make anything fly!...
