Lowery Clipper 400 Rotary Mower Attachment Instructions

Branson 2400H Tractor These instructions are intended solely for the purpose to inform the end user how to attach the Lowery Clipper 400 rotary mower to a Branson 2400H utility tractor. Other models of rotary mowers and tractors may use different components or configurations which require additional instructions or safety requirements. This instruction includes WARNING, CAUTIONS, and NOTES:



WARNING: WARNING refers to a procedure or practice that, if not correctly followed, could result in injury, long term health hazards, or death.



CAUTION: CAUTION refers to a procedure or practice that, if not correctly observed, could result in damage to or destruction of equipment.

NOTE: NOTE refers to a procedure or condition that requires emphasis.

Prior to Use



WARNING: Never operate rotary mower when personnel are within 5ft of implement. 1. Perform rotary mower pre-operation checks as follows:

2. Perform tractor 3-point hitch pre-operation checks as follows:

a. Visually 3-point lift arm attach points on tractor for uneven wear or damage. Replace items if required (see figure 4).

b. Visually inspect 3-point lift arm trunnion ends for freedom of movement. Lubricate trunnion if required (see figure 5).

3. Visually inspect mower PTO shaft universal joints for freedom of movement. If required lubricate universal joints with allpurpose grease (see figure 1).

4. Position tractor so that its Power Take-off shaft (see figure 6) is approximately 1 ft. away and centered with the rotary mower.

5. Spin the rotary mower PTO shaft (see figure 7.) with gloved hands to verify it is free of obstructions.

1. Attach adjustable crescent wrench to turnbuckle stop nut (see figure 8) and loosen by turning counter-clockwise. Figure 7.

2. Loosen lower lift arm turnbuckle (see figure 8) by turning counter-clockwise.

3. Position the lift arm trunnion end in rotary mower attach bracket and insert lift arm clevis pin through rotary mower attach point into lower lift arm trunnion (see figure 9). Note: It may require the use of a pry bar to place lift arms in correct position. Figure 8.

Attach Top Link 1. Loosen top link turnbuckle by turning counter-clockwise (see figure 10).

2. Position the top link turnbuckle in the rotary mower attach bracket (see figure 11).

3. Insert top link clevis pin into top link attachment points (see figure 11).

WARNING: Turn off tractor engine prior to attaching PTO shaft. CAUTION: Rotary mower PTO shaft must lock into place prior to operation. 1. Depress rotary mower PTO shaft locking mechanism (see figure 12).

2. Align rotary mower PTO shaft splines with tractor PTO shaft splines.

3. Slide rotary mower PTO shaft onto tractor PTO shaft.

4. Release rotary mower PTO shaft locking mechanism (see figure 12 )

Attach PTO Shaft

Align Rotary Mower Deck 1. Start tractor by inserting key into ignition and turning clockwise.

2. Adjust throttle to maintain 1500 rpm (see figure 12).

3. Move implement height lever into position 8 (see figure 13). Note: This will raise the rotary mower off the ground. Figure 12.

4. Adjust the lower lift arm turnbuckles to center the rotary mower with the tractor (see figure 14). Note: To position the rotary mower toward the left/right tighten the respective directions turnbuckles.

5. Adjust the implement height lever up or down to achieve the desired cutting height of the rotary mower.
