Canwen Xu’s started her speech with Asian stereotype comments, and slowly dived into

her personal story. She slowly glanced at her audience and kept a good eye contact

with her surroundings. Xu did small but sudden pauses, so she can connect with her

listeners. There was no vocalized pauses throughout her speech. She tailored her

message through personal experience and also made it relatable. Her tone was clear

and coherent. Canwen Xu’s tone was adjust through her channeling tool, also known as

the microphone she is using. Wu did not have to use flash cards, because she knew her

speech already. Her message was powerful, clear and relatable. I noticed Canxen also

listened to the feedback her audience was giving her such as; the small chuckling noise CANWEN XU’S SPEECH

when she noticed her audience found her story amusing. Wu stood tall with confidence,

and did not show fear in her eyes. She smiled the whole time. Overall, I believe her

speech is a good example. She excelled in all basic aspects of basic speech

presentation....
