Short Answer Response about the effects of TV on cognitive development....

Description

The only person who has a say about the amount of time their child spends watching TV are the parents. There has been proof that prolonged periods of time watching screens changes your child. Many young children spend and I personally have witnessed them spend hours in front of a screen. They all seem to have really well-developed skills but, they were also required to spend a certain amount of time on educational games and videos. However, after reading the book, the thoughts changed from, it’s not a big deal, the effects of TV exposure really does affect young children. My advice to parents would be to limit their children’s time in front of screens. Even if they appear to be content and occupied, it is important to monitor their viewing time. Although it may seem that the video is educational, nothing will have the same effect as a child viewing something in real life rather than viewing it on a screen. It is harder for young children to actually take what they learned from the video and apply it to their real lives. It is important that your child spends time with you, so they have the ability to learn and apply what they learn to their own lives. . Originally, I believed that TV time never hurt children, but now, I see the damage that it could do, and I will take that into account with my own children. I would recommend that instead of your child watching the video, you watch the video and use what you learn from the video to teach your child. It is important for them to see you doing things so that they have a better understanding. It is crucial that your child is not spending too much time in front of a screen in their critical learning stages....
