Description

A Single Snowflake By: Ini Adeboye

A single snowflake It dances, drifting in self-delight Undivided ubiquity without compare As it floats in a frenzy Its brethren born in the belief That it is irreplaceable, individual Always As the flake blows Another, the exact same A point mirrors a point A crystal the exact same Again the same snowflake in the same storm But it cannot be proven Which is true, which is false But why must it matter A snowflake the exact same In a storm filled with trillions Is no different If it was a single The impact One alone Sets the stage Pushing through the break of light Its action removing inaction Forcing change Allows for an extra And one more And maybe another The blinding whiteness An albino beast Encapsulating everything

Formidable foe The crowning of sun peeking past fur One Two Three Ten Infinite The individual The collective The in-between One is one Two is two Three is three Two is one One is two And most importantly one is three Never the same Minute changes Same force Or The same No changes Same Force Who knows To count every strand that makes the beast To document the similarities-the differences Impossible But Regardless of the replica Or lack of By itself One is Always will be A single snowflake And more

To me, by having the entirety of humanity be interconnected then the individual must hold the same strength of the collective within their being, allowing for "The impact" of an individual still important in the shaping of human history. To me "The Power of Voice" derives its significance from the inherent strength present within each individual. Thirdly, this concept of the voice of an individual is related to my (and in extension everyone's) ability to inspire others. Predominantly within stanzas 6 and 7 I discussed how though individual action can create significant change by itself, this action "sets the stage" to push others to follow suit and follow their inner convictions. From my experience, the moments that I have felt most confident in actively striving towards a goal have been in instances in which others have earnestly expressed themselves....
