Explain how experience shapes one's attitude toward cultural diversity. Give examples.

Experiences from the time we are children shape our attitude towards cultural diversity. When we are born, we are blank slates with no knowledge of even simple language as we grow everything around us and mainly from the influence of our parent's molds and teaches us about our culture. As adults, things as simple as gestures, languages, beliefs, and customs are something we do not recognize as unique to our culture; we see it as a normal way of life. An individual's attitude toward cultural diversity can be negative or positive depending on whether we choose to be judgmental or accept differences in other cultures' opinions, beliefs, values, language, and behaviors. Living in the United States, we can embrace and appreciate people from all different cultural groups regardless of class, gender, age, sexual orientation, nationality, disabilities, political preferences, and religious beliefs. One example that stands out to the extreme of an individual's experience that shapes their attitude towards cultural diversity would be an individual who grew up with white nationalists and their extreme beliefs. When an individual looks at that as an example, it becomes apparent that the way we raise our children is fundamental. A child's upbringing will either allow them to be understanding and accepting or hateful and heartless....
