What are some ways that social media has changed your daily life? What can marketers take advantage of for their promotional purposes?  Some ways that social media has changed my life are by shopping. I can online shop of course on the internet, but by Instagram boutiques that shows sizes, designs, colors, and online customer reps that are live with you 24/7, as if you’re in a real store. An example of food is like if I don’t feel well enough to cook dinner for myself and decide that I want takeout food. I can simply just download an app for food and transportation for my food to come to me. All I have to do is put in my bank account and debit card numbers. All you need is money.  Marketers can listen and learn about their competitors and their audiences. They can build relationships and awareness about products, answering customers, increase web traffic, and boost search engine ranking. Promoting products and services, managing your reputation, and improve customer service. 2. Choose a local business that is utilizing social media effectively. Analyze what they are doing by conducting your own social media monitoring. What tools can you use? What are the company’s objectives? What are they doing right?  A local business that utilizes social media is Cash App. On their social media monitoring they do cash app Fridays, they use some of their “Where’s Waldo” posts where their customers have to find how much money is in the posts and the business, Cash App individually sends out money to their customers and they allow a lot of their customers to work with them to make little extra money.  Tools I could use for social media monitoring are hash tags, allowing customers to express themselves with the product with pictures of themselves, or artwork that can really show off the clients skills with the product they’re using, mobile ads with text messages, applications, and mobile web sites, Bluetooth marketing would send a signal is sent to Bluetooth-enabled devices which would allowed marketers to send targeted messages to used based on their geographic locations and also with smartphone applications etc.  Cash App is doing an excellent job with responding and communicating with their customers and audience. They receive a lot of feedback off of social media for always staying up-to-date with new information about the app, and awesome giveaways. 3. Provide some examples of brands that have garnered success with social media. Provide some examples of some brands that have not been successful with social media. Based on this comparison, what are the key ingredients to getting customers to engage with a brand?  Starbucks, Taco bell, Nike, etc. are brands that built its success off of social media. Some brands that have not been successful with social media are Dove which they use social media effectively but, they usually get dragged on social media for their bad ideas of advertising. (dragged: talked about viciously, lose a lot of their customers, starts a lot of protests and boycotts) Another, also talked about brand that’s starting to fail on social media is H&M. Also, for their bad advertising and ideas for trying to “Relate” with their universal audiences.  Based on the comparison the key ingredients to getting customers to engage with a brand are giveaways, free things, social media outreach, text messaging clients daily etc.

Assume you are starting a new yogurt store on campus. Develop a profile of your likely target market. What social media tools do you think will be most effective at reaching that audience? Why?  My new yogurt place target market would be health conscience people, children, vegetarians, athletes. For the children, I would create a type of cartoon type yogurt that will entertain the children and yogurt is sugary and kids like sugary things. The athletes would eat the yogurt for a high protein and low in fats for their workouts and games etc. And, the yogurt would be for health-conscious people so they can have a different way of tasting something sweet that would be healthier and light. It’s kind of like, substituting ice cream for yogurt.  The social media tools I would use are Instagram of course, hashtags, making a Facebook page for my yogurt, and I would use hash tags, take so many pics of people eating my yogurt etc....
