Instructions for Using SONA The Psychology Department uses an online system called SONA to schedule students’ research participation. How to Request a SONA Account 1. Go to http://gsu.sona-systems.com/ 2. Click “Request Account” on the right side of the screen. 3. Read the instructions carefully. 4. Enter in your account information. 5. Make sure your SONA username is the same as your GSU username so that the SONA records will match my records ***IMPORTANT*** Double-check your email address and your course CRN to make sure they are correct!

6. Click “Request Account.” 7. Check your email for a message from SONA confirming that your account was created. How to Make an Appointment 1. Login to SONA 2. Click on “View Available Studies.” All available appointment types/times relevant to the course will be listed here. ***IMPORTANT*** Some types of appointments require that you sign up at least 24 hours in advance.

Click on the link of the study you are interested in. Read the study description and make sure that you meet any eligibility requirements. Click “View Time Slots for This Study” at the bottom of the page. Choose your time slot from the list and click “Sign-up”

How to Cancel an Appointment 1. Login to SONA 2. Click “View or cancel my study appointments” under My Schedule & Credits 3. Review the list of studies you are currently signed up for. 4. Click “Cancel” to the right of the title of the study. 5. Confirm that you want to cancel the time. ***IMPORTANT*** Some types of appointments require that you cancel at least 24 hours in advance. If there is no “Cancel” button next to your appointment, you are too late to cancel the appointment....
