SUMMARY OF MYSPACE INVENTOR

Myspace is an online community intended for anyone not only to connect, but to share their journals, music, interests, and picture with their friends. This social network was founded in July 2003, by Tom Anderson and his co-founder, Chris DeWolfe. Tom Anderson, or Thomas Anderson was born on 8th November, 1970 in San Diego, California, United States. Anderson has shown great interest in networking since his teenage period, where he is a computer hacker that prompted an FBI raid after he hacked the Chase Manhattan Bank security system. In 2000, he was XDrive’s product tester and copywriter. After XDrive, which is a digital storage company, went under in 2001, he and DeWolfe founded ResponseBase, a direct marketing company. ResponseBase was later been sold to eUniverse in late 2002. Anderson and other employees of eUniverse has set up the Myspace first page in August 2003. Myspace was a part of the result of Anderson’s reaction to Friendster, and it is a policy in Myspace to block any account that did not use their real name. Myspace has accumulated its popularity to be a notable social network under Intermix Media, a successor under eUniverse. Later on, Intermix Media and Myspace was sold to News Corp at an astronomical amount of 580 million dollars. Anderson was later become the company president after News Corp acquire Intermix Media and Myspace. In April 2009, Anderson was being replaced as the president by News Corp and he also no longer the Myspace default friend, replaced with a profile of “Today on Myspace”, or “T.O.M”. by the time he left the company, he amassed more that 350 million friend on Myspace, the biggest ‘influencer’ recognized. Anderson had announced in May 2012 that he would be joining RocketFrog Interactive, a company which created a Facebook app as an advisor. In 2018, he hinting that he is retired through his Twitter blurb and in January 2021, he hinted that he is enjoying photography. Before retiring in 2009, Anderson has been included by the TIME as one of the person in its list of 100 most influential people in the world. Barbara Walters also named him as one of her 10 Most Fascinating People....
