Course Description: The purpose of this course is to equip students with tools for investment management. Topics include basics of investments, mutual funds, portfolio optimization, behavioral finance, the theory of asset pricing models, equity valuation, bond pricing, etc. Learning Outcomes: This course prepares students for a career in financial planning, investment advising, professional money management, security analysis, and investment banking. In the process, engaged students will: 1. Develop a deep grasp of the investment environment and financial instruments 2. Be able to apply financial theory to solve the issues and problems of investment management. 3. Acquire the analytical tools necessary for valuation of various financial securities Prerequisites: MBA 765 or approval of the Director of MBA Programs Course Structure This course is designed to be entirely delivered online through Canvas.
