Unit development in response to student feedback

Every trimester, we ask students to tell us, through eVALUate, what helped and hindered their learning in each Unit. Yo strongly encouraged to provide constructive feedback for this Unit when eVALUate opens (you will be emailed a link).

In previous trimesters of this unit, students have told us that these aspects of the Unit have helped them to achieve the learning outcomes: ● ●

Good practical examples in both lectures and seminars. Engaging delivery of class content for both online and on-campus students.

As indicated by the following anonymous feedback from previous students: ●

● ●

"The amount of resources available to practice questions and understanding. There was an abundance of questio the textbook, from lectures and seminars to develop a strong understanding." "Great additional learning resources such as videos made concepts easier to understand." "As a 31-year-old cloud student returning to study for the first time since Year 12, I have been impressed by the su resources offered by Deakin as a Cloud student. I have tried to study online in the past and nothing else compares very excited to start my next unit and hope the flexible delivery & support continues!"

Past students have also made comments on areas that needed improvement such as: ● ●

"Assessments felt too broad and could be further refined to be more specific to accounting and the course conten "Feedback took far too long to be of any practical use for learning."

The following aspects of the unit have been introduced, enhanced or retained in response to feedback from students w have undertaken this unit in previous trimesters: ● ●

A number of topics and order of topics have been revised to improve content delivery. New assessments have been introduced in order to provide more timely feedback so that students are able to lea scaffold their learning experience. Assessments have been re-weighted and adjusted to better align with accounting content.

If you have any concerns about the Unit during the trimester, please contact the unit teaching team - preferably early i trimester - so we can discuss your concerns, and make adjustments, if appropriate.
