WELCOME

Welcome to the unit MMH232 Human Resource Development. My name is Sarah Steen and I am the unit chair of MMH232. I extend a warm welcome to you wherever you are. As your Unit Chair, I hope that you will enjoy learning in this unit a it interesting, fun and relevant to your studies in your current course and your future directions as a Deakin graduate. Human resource development is focused on the development of the organisation and the individual within the organis to achieve optimal performance and to meaningfully contribute to the underlying organisational goals. Human resourc development is relevant across all organisations in all industries. Organisations want to get the best from their people f organisation's goals and strategic direction. Human resource development involves: training and development (T&D), organisational development (OD); and career development (CD). Most communication will be via the discussion forums on the CloudDeakin unit site. Please use the discussion space fo enquiries and to connect, network and build a community in this unit. ABOUT THIS UNIT This unit provides students with the theoretical framework and practical skills required of practitioners in the human resource development area of organisations. It identifies the functions of human resource development within the organisation and considers current and future trends, including training and development, career development, and organisational development.

Unit development in response to student feedback
