Translation: a) This is not the dog of our neighbors; It's Juan and María's. b) He said he would not write the letter himself nor let Laura write it. c) He has been working at Zara for more than two years. d) She is much thinner than her sister but not as pretty as her. e) He received two dozen of red roses on his birthday. f) He washed his hands, combed his hair and looked in the mirror before leaving home.

2) Composition: What do you think of the text in Unit 3 (Drinking Tea in Britain)? Is it funny? Old fashioned? Too stereotyped? Does it represent England today? Write a short essay (about 150 words) giving your opinion on the text and on British people in general.

The text itself is hilarious, and it talks about a typical British cliché in a very funny way. In Britain people followed the habit of drinking tea for many years, and it became part of their culture. The famous “five o´clock tea” accompained with cakes and biscuits is still a British tradition, but not in the way the author says (and of course, it is in the afternoon, not in the morning!). When you visit a British home, you´re not obliged to take a cup of tea if you don´t want it, and the person who offers it to you will not feel offended. It´s an exageration indeed! Today, the United Kingdom is a country where people from different places live together, and the British, despite of being very traditional, have an open mind. I live in the UK since 2008, and had time to learn many things about them and their ideals, and I don´t think this text would define them at all. I believe that the author, who was an humourist (and a Hungarian-born British journalist) just wanted to make a joke around this tradition. And it served its purpose: it made me laugh a lot!...
