According to the 5 dynamics energy graph, my highest score is on the Examine dynamic. I kind of agree with that because is very close to who I am. I am more logical and a critical thinker who tends to look at things from a logical point of view. The report shows that I can effortlessly judge what possibilities can become realities. However, my lowest score is on the explore dynamic. This means I will need effort to complete the required actions and conscious effort for that matter. Whereas my energy level for both excite and execute dynamic are at deliberate plus respectively, I have the capacity for enthusiasm and excitement only on occasions that call for them. I will also require energy to relate with people on a long-term basis. It will also take me a bit of effort to make calculated interest in winning and gaining material control.

My strength is the ability to weigh everything before deciding to prevent irreversible mistakes. I also use facts and figures in my approach to my task that is why I prefer routines and predictability of actions. Challenges could come in the form of lacking the ability to brainstorm quickly and proffer solutions to a work-related problem. This is like my second challenge of lacking the courage to take leadership positions despite my competencies.

My experience as regards conversation is diverse sometimes, I see that people are at the pretense level in which they intentionally lie to avoid a situation. I have also experienced a scenario in which I decided not to say anything, so I do not cause a problem for someone. But there is an occasion in which the truth must be told however brutal it may seem, sincerity is when I told a coworker to do his job even though it makes him uncomfortable.

It has not escaped my attention, however, that the highest level of conversation takes place at the accuracy and authenticity level in which case I must separate mutually observable facts from an explanation of those facts. A genuine appreciation of various views and factors is very essential in applying authenticity to a conversation. During our staff meeting, I was able to point out the need to hire more hands to do the job to reduce stress versus making employees work long hours to meet up with deadlines.

For me to succeed in a performance assessment (paper-intensive) and objective assessment online learning environment like WGU, I will need to be organized, focused, time conscious, and consistent. I will also need to plan and stick to the plan. I consider this to be my strength because it comes naturally to me especially when the information is logical, factual, and historical in approach. Although my weakness could be in researching a new topic, I will address this concern by seeking help from my mentor and course instructor and also consulting the resources at the WGU writing center.

My experience in the leadership and communication class has been very wonderful. Every topic in this class has been very helpful in every aspect of my life. The need to be focused and to ponder on the situation to make the best judgment has been very beneficial. One of the activities in the class is to view an object and explain what we can see I was very surprised that there could be various perspective to something and that it is possible for other to see a different thing even though we are looking at the same thing. This will help me in my professional life to always consider other people’s insight when making decisions and to also look at the whole picture.

I also learned that listening can be in degree. I can listen to understand the need of the other person and respond to that in our discussion which is very important in my personal and professional life. I also learned that presentation matters when communicating to gain the trust of the other person. This course will help me in my academics as well. It provides an avenue for critical thinking and the opportunity to communicate effectively. The picture of my learning style and strengths is painted in this class.
