BODY PARAGRAPHS Topic/Elaborate

Evidence

The character of Aaron is presented in the extract as being closed off and distant possibly due to a traumatic and unknown painful experience in his past.

Short, sharp sentences describe his body language when he responds to Mr Barton’s questions. In place of verbal communication, Aaron resorts to ‘shrugs’, ‘nods’ and head shakes, which suggests he lacks the confidence to engage with Mr Barton.
