Three Levels of Consciousness Notes and response. Good post. People are in constant conflict because of their conscious and unconscious drives. We can be influenced to purchase things we don't need just because of the presentation. What are the three levels of consciousness? https://medium.com/achology/the-three-levels-of-human-consciousness-6d9a59fed577  The first level of consciousness is known as the conscious state, and this refers to our immediate awareness that you are experiencing as you read this. We make use of our conscious mind when we take in input from our senses, analyze the information, and then make decisions based on this information.  The next level of consciousness, the subconscious (or preconscious), is the stuff from which dreams are made. We can consider it as the storehouse of all remembered experiences, impressions that are left on the mind by such experiences, and tendencies that are awakened or reinforced by these impressions. Every experience you’ve ever had, every thought, every impression lives in the subconscious mind and influences our patterns of thought and behavior far more than we realize.  The final level of consciousness is known as the unconscious. This is made up of thoughts, memories, and primitive/instinctual desires that are buried deep within ourselves, far below our conscious awareness. Even though we’re not aware of their existence, they have a significant influence on our behavior.

Response Hello, Professor Turner The three levels of consciousness are… Consciousness-This first level is referring to what is called your immediate awareness of the situation. For example, it would refer to what you are doing right now as you are reading this. This state is where information gathered from our senses and is analyzed for our brain to tell us what is happening right in front of us. Sub-Conscious-This is the part of your brain that stores all your remembered experiences a bit like a very large warehouse. These are experiences that are considered important to us by our brain. Sometimes these memories are ones we would like to forget that our brain will not allow us to forget, and sometimes these are memories that we are happy to have in our repertoire. Every single one of use experiences emotion of some kind and a variety of emotions at that. These emotions are triggered by events that evoke strong emotions. Sometimes these events are traumatic ones that leave behind scars. Sometimes these events are ones that we consider to be some of the happiest times of our lives. Sometimes these events are the little things we were raised around such as our parents or guardians’ behaviors. These events leave behind impressions on the sub-conscious mind and thusly influences our behavioral patterns more than we can imagine. These memories are usually considered happy, sad, angry, disgust, fear, guilt, self-loathing, etc... The Unconscious-This is the third and final level of consciousness. This level is made up of memories, thoughts, primitive/instinctual desires that are buried deep within ourselves so that it is easier for us to ignore or cope with them. Sometimes we bury things so effectively that we are not always aware of these things. These things are buried “far below our conscious awareness.” (I could not think of a better way to end this sentence) To keep the analogy going, this is kind of like the basement or perhaps the sub-basement of our warehouse. First level-top floor Second level-basement Third level-sub-basement Here is the resource I used. https://medium.com/achology/the-three-levels-of-human-consciousness-6d9a59fed577 Sincerely Felicia Turner...
